Six years after the debut of the first movie to win the Best
Animated Feature Oscar, and only now Cartoon Network gets around to
showing it (Friday, July 20, 7:30 PM E/PDT). One can only wonder
about the legal issues that caused such a delay . . .

Uh, the fact that NBC kept having to show it as Universal's b*tch, and
now it isn't a prime time network movie anymore?

Keep in mind that "Shrek" does *not* belong to Time Warner. This is likely
the cause of the delay.

Keep in mind that Shrek was on TBS seventeen times in June. TBS is owned by
the same parent company as Cartoon Network.

Shrek has been hyped to death already! Katzenberg says that
#5 (FIVE?!) will be the last, but then what? ...a TV series?
I wish Cartoon Network had shown the three Wallace & Gromit
shorts a month before Curse of the Were-Rabbit's release...
that might've helped ticket sales.

I think any amount of time would've been too soon. I bet they waited
until the time when Cartoon Network seems so overrun with live action movies
that the broadcast of even a piece of garbage like "Shrek" will be seen as a
positive turn just by being a cartoon movie.

One man's "piece of garbage" is just about everyone else's
masterpiece . . .
