All I can say about this is..."Holy crap."
http://popbytes.com/archive/2006/08/south_parks_ad_in_variety.shtml
And yeah, I know it's offensive. Well, DUH. South Park is at its best
when it's being offensive. And I can't think of *anyone* else out
there in the Vast Wasteland that has the cajones to do something like
this. Screw Mel Gibson and his drunken anti-Semitism...South Park
shows us how to REALLY offend people.
Again.
(And yes, I think it's hilarious.)

Maybe scientology couldn't just let it go and did something to piss the
boys off. as for Mel, yep what he said was very wrong but lets give
him a little credit for kicking himself in the ass to the press the
next day instead of blameing everyone and everything else.

This is hilarious. $cientology dictatorship is being poked fun at by
comics left and right.

Oh, bullshit, that's strictly PR & damage control - about as believable
as a politician's apologies or a televangelist's tears when caught in a
cheap motel with a sleazy hooker.

Hey Sparky,
Why does South Park need to do any kind of damage control? Everyone
loved the show except for scientology.

What the fuck? Scientology dictatorship?! Do you go on about the
Catholics this way? Or do you think scientology secretly controls the
government somehow?

Do some research. Start with the National Foundation of Women
Legislators, see how many of them promote Scientology's nonsensical
Purification Rundown and anti-mental health bills. Then take note that
there are two Scientologists on the board; treasurer Bruce Wiseman,
president of Scientology's anti-mental health group Citizen's Commission
on Human Rights, and Joy Westrum, president of Scientology front group
Second Chance.
You can google any element of the above paragraph. Unlike the RCC,
Scientology is only 1% religious flavored product, and 99% destructive,
politically motivated cult.
