I caught the first episode of this new cartoon series on ABC Family
last night.

I mildly liked it. The show turned out to be devoid of cultural references or
fourth wall breaking. Instead the humor was more character based. So I
laughed depending on which character was getting the focus. Now I'm still not
sold on the two leads: they seemed like every other con-artist/idiot duos. I
was bored with the A-plot of the messed up Mexico vacation. But I felt
endeared to Tabitha, the spazzed out girl cat. Cats can be very needful. And
I think she could be a hottie. :-) I also laughed at Dooper, the crazy homeless
cat. Good art for his paranoid fantasy about Hell (I wonder if he's supposed
to be a religious fanatic.) Because I liked Dooper I enjoyed the B-plot dealing
with the roadkill cat.
In this show the cats were able to talk to the humans. Actually I'd love to
see that premise done more often, if it's handled correctly. I'm partial to
premises where furries and humans have an equal footing. Buckley, the Nicole
Sullivan character's cat, acted like he wanted to start something with her.
That could be an interesting premise.
