In fairness, people usually know what they want: That wacky Japanese
series that just started airing on Cartoon Network (in English), was
praised on National Public Radio, and is getting some word-of-mouth
from the anti-Otaku set. Blockbuster closed down? Holywood Video
closed down? Better get Netflix.

Me, I tend to put the new stuff on my Metaphysically Unconquerable To-
Do List and get around to renting it, eventually. Once the demnad
dies down, opportunities for "newish" and "newer" stuff opens up. And
a "Very Long Wait" for something as popular as Death Note eventually
becomes more manageable.

I guess I got lucky.

But still, I prefer watching the crusty Vampire Princess Miyu OAV for
the first time to watching The Latest Greatest Adult Swim Anime
Blockbuster the instant the DVDs are released.

Do you have a credit/debit card and can spare 9 dollars a month? It's
worth it to visit their website and search for a few obscure titles
that may interest you. I looked for Wonderfalls, Miyu, and
Escaflowne, and signed up when I saw how massive the collection was.

It helps that I live 2 miles from the Gaithersburg, MD distribution
center . About 2 percent of my wacky selections had to be shipped
from Lansing, MI or Raleigh, NC, so make a note.

No long-term committments, either. I suspended my account for 90 days
recently, and they didn't charge me.

Terrence Briggs, satisfied customer.
Peace to you...
