...has just gone up a point:

Even a self-professed Greedy Bastard can have his good points-- :)
Not much, granted, coming from the "Spamalot" guy, but a step in the
right direction.
(Although reportedly, the original-draft script was envisioned to have
lame fanboy Grail-parrot "homages" bursting at the seams, Idle should
consider himself lucky to get *just* that one.)

I haven't seen the movie yet, but
In the play the heroine loves a middle aged poet, whom she
ultimately describes to her husband as their own child, while one
gets some well-worn effects, such as the galloping horse done with
visible coconut shells ... [_NY Times_, 10/15/1913]
Yes, it's an homage, but I believe that the basic joke is an old
vaudeville gag.

And, as the previous poster pointed out, coconuts in the Shrek 3 "stage"
scene might be considered acceptable out of context--
It's only when somebody starts digging up the early drafts--where the
only reason we got Idle in the first was that the #3 producers
originally wanted to reunite all the Holy Grail knights, and then you
ain't *seen* "homaging" yet--that things start to look a little suspicious.

Wow, someone found a way to be more pathetic than Boston dealing
with the Aqua Teen Terror! Well, this is more like Fox News going
after Al Franken for his book. I always liked Michael Palin more
anyway for "A Fish Called Wanda," and his "Around the World"
documentaries . . .
