Point being, I have a lot of emotional investment in the Legion. And
while, in general, the DC animated series have been done well, the
potential for not doing the Legion well is huge.
Overall, based on one episode, and acknowledging the cartoon is aimed
at boys 6-10, they didn't do too badly.
First, what they did wrong -- the character designs. Gack! Ugh! What
were they smoking??? They claimed to be going for a Clone Wars art
style, but if you don't have Genndy Tartakovsky, don't try to imitate
him. It looks more like bad Teen Titans fan art.
And let's discuss Brainiac Five. Real Legion: B5 is an organic being,
a Coluan to be precise, whose primary contribution to the LSH is his
"Level 12 Intellect". His only combat ability is his purely defensive...

In the current episode, we see Cosmic Boy, Blok, Colossal Boy,
Shrinking Violet, Dream Girl(?), Invisible Kid(?), and Sun Boy, albeit
only as images on the monitor board as Timber Wolf swore the oath --
the classic Legion oath from the Adventure comic days, which was cool.
I understand the desire to not overwhelm viewers with characters, but
a large part of the appeal of the Legion is that it was, well, legion

I think the wealth of the member icons we see in the opening credits
indicate we're to assume there are a lot more than even the ones we've
seen.

There were also Element Lad and Tyroc. I expect that you may be
mistaking Tyroc for Invisible Kid II.

I'm OK with most of it with the exception of Braniac 5 (he's NOT a
robot and shouldn't be stretching his neck, arms a la Chamelion.)
My major complaint is the eyes. Some of them work fine, like Brainiac 5
or Superboy... but other characters just look hideous (Saturn Girl,
Phantom Girl.) I guess they were trying to differentiate the characters
more, but it really didn't work well in these cases.
