After a few episodes, this show has really grown on me; if ever
the word "trip" could be used to describe a show, this is certainly
the case!
Marzipan City, and it's various surroundings look like they could
have only been conceived in a psychodelic dream. If not the wild
colors, certainly the bizarre structures.
The renaming of various objects smacks of Dr. Seuss, no matter how
simple they might be. The renamings also play a role in the end
results of the bizarre recipes that get conceived; as if sentient food
wasn't enough; and yes, there is something slightly disturbing about
edibles that talk back to you . . .
Then there's the occassional mix of stop-motion animation; a
trippy show just gets trippier!
As for the characters, they turn out surprisingly likeable.
Chowder himself can be incredibly annoying, but in little kid, Dennis
the Menace kind of way; he means no harm, just childishly naive.
Overall, these ingredients mix to make a fun, enjoyable show . . .

and happiness, and are incapable of certainty or
happiness. This desire is left to us, partly to punish us, partly to make us
perceive wherefrom we are fallen.
438. If man is not made for God, why is he only happy in God? If man is made
for God, why is he so opposed to God?
439. Nature corrupted.--Man does not act by reason, which constitutes his
being.
440. The corruption of reason is shown by the existence of so many different
and extravagant customs. It was necessary that truth should come, in order
that man should no longer dwell within himself.
441. For myself, I confess that, so soon as the Christian religion reveals
the principle that human nature is corrupt and fallen from God, that opens
my eyes to see everywhere the mark of this truth: for nature is such that
she testifies everywhere, both within man and without him, to a lost God and
a corrupt nature.
442. Man's true nature, his true good, true virtue, and true religion, are
things of which the knowledge is inseparable.
443. Greatness, wretchedness.--The more light we have, the more greatn

ATTENTION:
Some bizarre form of religion troll is hijacking the posting identities of
multiple posters in alt.tv.cartoon-network and other groups, as well as
hijacking legitimate group threads, to randomly spam political and religious
crap to completely unconcerned, unassociated newsgroups.
Obviously, those of us who are net savvy already figured this out, but those
who are not as well-versed in the vagaries of Usenet abuse may not have
realized this straight away.
Bottom line: if it doesn't look like the person who appears to have posted
it posted it, IT WAS NOT THAT PERSON WHO POSTED IT, and it should be
ignored.

(And applying that rule, by this friendly, straightforward and
group-participatory post by ELL...) ;)
