Cannes Animation (a.k.a. Cartoons at Cannes Film Festival)

In case you forgot, Persepolis writer/co-director Marjanne Satrapi
served on this year's Cannes Film Festival jury.

An animated documentary from Israel was an official entry, Waltz with
Bashir. This thing's more politically weighty than even Persepolis:

Youtube has a trailer:

NPR's May 28th episode of Fresh Air featured a Cannes overview by the
Critic-at-large John Powers (submitted reviews of Paranoia Agent and
Deathnote recently, and mentioned Persepolis is his Cannes overview
last year):

Terrence Briggs, finally saw Death Note last week. Everyone loves
Richard III these days.
Peace to you...
