Briggs is watching Jane and the Dragon... ARE YOU?!?!?!

Speed pimping:

Jane and the Dragon is the best "new" animated series on broadcast TV.

Redheaded Jane may be the most endearing, down-to-Earth, female lead in
years. Her reptile friend is a stitch, too.

Some surprisingly good, knowing dialogue. Stories are entirely
character-driven, and require no magic beyond challenging and
developing the show's relationships.

If you love British accents, show gets a [A+].

Patrick McNamara informs us that the Candian-Kiwi collaboration has
aired in Canada for some time. My credits state 2003 as the creation
date.

Longer pimp session to come.

Terrence Briggs, wishing he could get a better antenna signal. At
least until the 2009 digital switchover.

I tried JATD and liked it, although in the episode I saw ("A Pig of a
Problem") the king acted like a jerk until the very end of the episode.
Anyway, thanks, Terry!

JATD also runs on the I Online network (formerly Pax), Fridays at 5 PM
EST. It's followed by another good kids show, "Jacob Two-Two", which is
in turn followed by reruns of "The Monkees." That's what I call 90
minutes of solid, family-friendly entertainment!

I look forward to it; your pimp sessions are always fun.

Was he plausible in the role of "jerk"? That's what matters in
character-driven scripts.

Compare that to, say, an episode of Galaxy High I recently saw. The
female lead ignores the male lead's constant attempts to warn her of a
supernova, simply because she's peeved at him. About 2 minutes in, I'm
thinking Indiana Jones: "WE. ARE GOING. TO DIE!!!"

Watch "The Replacements" and "Monster Allergy" and I'll owe you a
doggie biscuit. J&tD and MA need the help more, though.

My I network affiliate broadcasts from a crumby Fairfax station that
doesn't reach my Gaithersburg apartment very well. Their schedule
sucks rocks, too. It's 3 hours of Qubo, preceded and followed by
infomercials. Gotta love the weblets.

I'm better off recording from NBC.
