That is, I discovered it in the early 1990s and was fascinated by it,
but it changed so much after a few years that I didn't really bother
to follow it. Somehow, I don't remember the religious programs, but I
do remember the "pre-1948 movies and old cartoons."
Some things I remember were the 1940 live-action "L'il Abner," "Mutt &
Jeff" cartoons, Warner Bros.' 1942 "The Dover Boys of Pimento
University" cartoon, 1940s "Superman" cartoons, a B&W clip of a man
singing "My Old Pal" to a little dog, some "adult" 1990s independent
cartoon shorts, and maybe Hedy Lamarr's movie "Ecstasy." There was
also a male host who always wore a fedora and only appeared in
silhouette - any idea who he was?
(You can see one of those cartoons here: http://youtube.com/watch?v=dpOPyjmB8SI
)
Also, the promo ad for the channel included a very old clip of a
famous stuntman taking a cannon ball in the stomach - straight from
the cannon!
What cartoons and movies do YOU remember from that channel?

You might find some of those things on the Internet Archive ( archive.org).
There's a number of Superman cartoons there. I've also been running across
some interesting stuff on YouTube. I found one TV special last week that I
haven't seen since it aired around the early 70s.
