After seeing it recently, I noticed the similaritiy between this episode and
Chris Marker's outstanding Sci Fi short, "La Jet

I'm familiar with "La Jettée," having been surprised by it on
Turner Classic Movies last year, long after I had given up ever
seeing it and forgotten about it.

I'm not so familiar with "Winter Night Phantom." Is that the one
with the black and white film the police captain is fascinated
with watching? From what I remember, I wouldn't particularly
link it to that film, likely more "The Man With Bogart's Face,"
or "Play It Again, Sam."
