You and my brother both. One of his students convinced him to do what
I could not... sample some anime. FLCL was on
the list.
He couldn't rmember the title, exactly; he merely described some
stupid series that made no sense where the character starts explaining
the story through a comic book, which is where he jumped ship.

I did try that one, not knowing anything about it other then it was a
Gainax title, and again it wasn't for me. I'm just not into school
romance type things for the most part, even if there is more to a
series once you get beyond that :)

Sounds like a good thread idea there. I've only read the Kare Kano V 1-3
omnibus edition, haven't seen the anime, but I can agree with Blade here
based on that. My list of others:

Darn, just glanced over at the pending pile, recalled another one. Haven't
seen the series in some time since the cable changes dropped the channel
that ran it ocaisionally, but in Betterman, one of the Diver teams, Shou and
Kaede, are deeply devoted to each other. When she becomes pregnant, they
marry. Sadly, they die together in the final battle.
