Indeed!
Some points:
--I wish they'd clarified that Roku even HAD kids, though...
--"Fang"? "FANG"? Lamest. Dragon name. Ever.
--Ron Perlman was the voice of Sozin! Yay!
--Iroh finally speaks! I wonder if he's still playing dumb in front
of the guards...?
--"Make sure they get your good side". Wow. That was below the belt.
-How did Iroh GET that message to Zuko, anyway?
--Ok, when do we get to see Sokka use his sword again?
--Why is Nick no longer showing next episode previews at the end of
the episodes? C'mon, Nick!

Just the Fire Nation version of 'Spot'.

This being "Shocktober," I got the idea they are using the space
normally reserved for previews to promote said programming.
Considering next Friday falls on November, things should return to
normal . . .

True. Iroh's revelation could've used some setup. Also, he glossed
over that Zuko has *four* great-grandfathers. The family tree would
look something like this (switch to fixed-width font to view):
Roku===() ?===? ?===? ?===Sozin
| | | |
?======? ?===Azulon
| +-----+
Ursa========Ozai Iroh
+----+
Azula Zuko
Also: Roku took 12 years to master his remaining three elements. Aang
is on-track to do so in two years. Kinda motivated, isn't he?

Right.
We see Ruko and his wife, but nowhere do we see the kids. I mean,
Roku could have done the whole, "the day my son/daughter was born was
the happiest day of my life... sadly, that happiness would not last,
as Sozin blah, blah, etc..."
> Also, he glossed over that Zuko has *four* great-grandfathers.
Isn't that pretty standard...? I admit math's not my strong suit,
but...

It's been tried, though, and not every leader is right regardless of
their intentions :) It does bring up the question of if minor wars were
going on at the time, so that he saw a need to stop them by taking over
everyone.

Minor wars between whom, if so? There are only four powers in that
world.
The "Earth Kingdom" might be more of a loose federation, with
internecine conflicts; ditto for the FN. Maybe border disputes
between the Northern Water Tribe and nearby EK groups. Possibly
something southward, too -- we don't know how much larger the SWT was
before the FN attack.
Are there countries not among the Big Four, perhaps? Something like
Polynesia, on minor islands?
