Last weekend, we saw "Space Chimps" have a devastating impact at the box
office, and an equally strong impact with the critics:...

Joking aside :-), there's no list of this movie's budget, and I get the
impression that "Space Chimps" didn't cost all that much. So Vanguard might
come out ahead after all.

I go by the general rule that any (non-Disney) animated with Patrick
Warburton in the voice cast is one you've already seen. -_-
(In fact, I seemed to be getting overwhelming vibes of "Ratchet & Clank"
cutscenes from the Chimps trailer, except that R&C is arguably wittier...)

I had some free time between semesters and so I caught a viewing. It
wasn't terrible like "The Pirates Who Don't Do Anything" and "Happily N'Ever
After". But it should've been a D2V release. Parents could perhaps use this
movie to distract little kids: the alien world where the characters spent most
of their time looked like it was drawn with fingerpaint. But the fingerpaint
and a couple of action sequences are all this movie has going for it. The
gags had flatfooted timing from beginning to end. Once they landed on the
alien world the writers had no idea what to do then, and so the characters
just wasted time slogging through a jungle and meeting up with superfluous
secondary characters.
