You didn't hear about the Federal law MANDATING the inclusion of at
least one fart gag into every children's film? It's retroactive to
older films (like 101D) as well. On Cartoon Network's 'Chowder' the
main character is taking no chances and even keeps a caged fart as his
pet.

They're also experimenting with a pilot program that will expand the
law to include a pooping scene in each film (see 'Open Season' and
'The Barnyard'); Congress has yet to decide whether to require the
feces to be visibly displayed or merely show the character in the act
of defecating.

Upcoming retrofart gags for Disney classics:

SNOW WHITE: While cleaning the kitchen, SW can't get the dust out of a
large jug, so she has animal pals blow dust out. Bunny fart is
insufficient, so she has a deer help out. Later gags showing reactions
of dwarfs to jug (when Doc first opens it, small cloud comes out).

PINOCCHIO: Gags added to "Give a Little Whistle" number by simply
substituting fart sound effects for original whistles. Amusing echo
business.

FANTASIA: Again, simply adding sound effect to existing scenes: "Dance
of the Hours" when hippo lands on gator, "Toccata & Fugue" when big
trapezoidal solid walks across screen, and in "sound track" sequence
when it makes the big drippy noise. Ideas for adding farts to "Night on
Bald Mountain" and "Ave Maria" are nixed by humorless suits in front office.

It's interesting to see a pretty big creature like Horton concerned
with protecting the tiniest creatures of all...even if the others in
the jungle of Nool may not believe that's he's right about all
those tiny people on the speck (well, maybe Rudy, the Sour
Kangaroo's son, may think he could be right...)

Lovable characters like Horton, who can be serious at times (and
is truly determined) but also wild-and-crazy, full of imagination
and whimsy. Like the mayor, who seems determined to protect
his city from the dangers they're now being exposed to (who
will protect the protector? "A giant elephant, up in the sky!...
Don't bother to look, he's invisible...")

Had to admit a tear--of joy--rolled down my cheek at the end.
Highly recommended! The look of the film is visually stunning,
and a good voice cast (CBS Radio's Charles Osgood narrates;
the mayor and his wife are Steve Carrell and Amy Poehler,
and Jim Carrey of course is Horton. Carol Burnett plays the
sour Kangaroo. And Jesse McCartney voices JoJo, and let's
just say he didn't have too many lines to remember :)

I can only guess a certain grinch's reaction to a giant eyeball peeking in
through his window.

Signed,

who is sure that Max would bolt under the bed and shudder.

There is a little kid animal character - one of Horton's pals - who
talks about some imaginary characters who 'eat rainbows and poop
butterflies;' that's as close as they come

How long 'till the Japanese modify the book "Everyone Farts"
to "everyone in WhoVille farts ...".

Oh noes! Someday I'll scan and mst3k the worst of my furry library!
As librarian and curator, I normally thrive to get the BEST books,
but sometimes the WORST are useful, as negative examples.
I'm unsure of the real title, I call it "The Rainbow Butted Bunnies"
because the bunnies all have rainbow patterend tails
and they lay Easter Eggs that are already decorated with matching patterns!
Oh, it gets worse from there. The birds are JEALOUS of the bunnies
so they hold organizational meetings in the forest to resolve their inequities.
And the critical acclaim from all the author's friends
are on amazon.com and in the book itself!

Hmmm...I saw it and was impressed. And certainly, Jesse "Jojo" (I
wonder what jailbait pop girl singer they got THAT name from?) Carol
Burnett's perfomance sometimes remninded me of Allison Janney in
"Juno" and "Hairspray"..glad to see/hear her again!
