Getting Money Out Of A Deadbeat

I am a Design Engineer who did some contract work for a company.
Payment is late and the company ignores me. What's the most effective
way to get my money? A lawyer? Collection agency? I was a
contractor not employee so Labour Board can't help.

Or a ThunderStick. Those work surprisingly well.

Sell the debt to a collection agency. You'll lose some money but it's
a lot stressful.

It all depends on the amount owed.

Under $10k - go small claims first

Over $10k but less than $25k - Collection agency is probably best

Over $25k - Lawyer up baby!
