Well, not sure if they didn't have reason to 'go in' until an
interpretor arrived, but they really didn't need to use a taser on him
and could have gotten him down without that. As for them being guilty
of murder, I agree.

Either way, the guy is dead and no-one knows why yet. It may have nothing
to do with the taser or anything else that the cops did.
I watched the video and while it didn't show much of what happened before
the tasering, I've heard that the guy had been behaving erratically for
some time. During the video, I could hear the cops the trying to talk
him, and they were being calm about it. He had ample opportunity to
settle down and he either wouldn't or couldn't.
The cops have a mandate to protect the public and themselves. They never
know what kind of risk they are facing. How many extreme videos have we
seen where a cop gets shot during a simple traffic stop? It's not as if
we haven't had two good examples lately of what can happen to cops who go
into unknown situations. What if this guy had had a knife? What if he
had had HIV and he bit a cop? Or a bystander?

Excessive force causing death? Maybe. However, all methods of
subduing a suspect displaying agression have their pro's and con's.
Using batons or physical force is quite violent and a misdirected blow
can also kill on contact and usually leads to policy brutality
claims. It's a public relations nightmare alternative.
Pepper Spray has been linked to blindness and even death in recipients
with respiratory problems aggravated by the spray. Also, pepper spray
has a nasty habit of backfiring on the user. The Police don't really
like using it.
