Back in 2004, a group of dedicatd Harry Potter fans put together a
grown-up Harry Potter conference and we are doing it again.

Here is a brief summary of the more important points to consider
before registering:

Where: University of Ottawa in Ottawa

Events/Meals Included in Registration:
· Admission to all the daytime programming sessions
· The meet and greet
· Friday breakfast, lunch and Keynote Dinner

· Sunday Keynote Brunch

*Note all Keynotes include sit-down, three-course meals

Registration does not include accommodations. We have reserved a block
of rooms at the University of Ottawa residence.

The joys of home ownership.

Tim had been noticing that the foundation blocks on the house side of the
garage (abutting, not attached) appear to be eroding. It's hard to say
for sure because they run below the unattractive, substandardly poured
concrete slab between the structures.

The garage is all brick, so the second sign of any real trouble would be
cracked mortar and/or brick on that side and issues with the side door.
Neither of these two symptoms are apparent.

I called a home inspector that I like, and he came by for a look at it.
We are going to have a company come in and remove that concrete slab,
which will cost about $1000. I'm actually pretty happy about that because
it's so very ugly. Then, once they can take a good look at the garage
foundation, they'll know if we need underpinning, and it starts at $3000.

Since the construction of the garage dates back to George, I'm terrified
by what else they may find. I'm sure that he had some sort of hand in
building it because the windows are installed wrong side out.
