More good news that the public and Congress is getting the message,
ENOUGH of your bull shit GWB!!!!!
In a stunning vote that illustrated President Bush's diminished
standing, the Senate on Thursday ignored his veto threat and added tens
of billions of dollars for veterans and the unemployed to his Iraq war
spending bill.
A majority of Republicans broke ranks with Bush on a veto-proof 75-22
vote while adding more than $10 billion for various other domestic
programs, including heating subsidies for the poor, wildfire fighting,
road and bridge repair, and health research.
Democrats crowed about their victory. But the developments meant more
confusion about when the must-pass measure might actually become law and
what the final version will contain.
Senators voted 70-26 to approve $165 billion to fulfill Bush's request
for military operations in Iraq and Afghanistan into next spring, when
Bush's successor will set war policy. Overall, the measure contains $212
billion over the coming two years — $28 billion more than the
administration sought — plus about $50 billion more through 2017 for
veterans' education benefits.

HITLER Hagee Unapologetic Over Hitler Statement
Pastor John Hagee said on Thursday that his controversial sermon, in which
he said Hitler was fulfilling God's will for a state of Israel, had been
"intentionally mischaracterized" and constituted a "gross example of bias."
In a statement to The Huffington Post, he did not apologize for or distance
himself from the sermon, saying simply that he had long grappled with how
God "who controls what happens here on earth" could allow the Holocaust.
"To assert that I in any way condone the Holocaust or that monster Adolf
Hitler is the biggest and ugliest of lies," Hagee wrote. "I have always
condemned the horrors of the Holocaust in the strongest of terms. But even
more importantly, my abhorrence of the Holocaust and anti-Semitism has never
stopped with mere words."

Does Obama really believe that these talks were a success (i.e. the
USA was better off after they took place)?

SAN ANGELO, Texas (AP) - A state appellate court has ruled that child
welfare officials had no right to seize more than 400 children living
at a polygamist sect's ranch.
The Third Court of Appeals in Austin ruled that the grounds for
removing the children were "legally and factually insufficient" under
Texas law.

Had the questioners wanted to know the cost per board feet or
other three dimenional measurement, that would have been asked.
Looks to me like this is more of a feet-to-meters conversion
question.

I was asked many such questions in school even though
we don't use the system.

Oh, you mean that's not true? But wait, you then admit

Truth In Politics: Illinois Gas Prices And Taxes
Mike Flannery CHICAGO (CBS) ? Tired of seeing the price at the pump jump
every time you need to buy gasoline? Well, the record-high price of
gasoline in the Chicago area is linked to a record-high rate of taxation:
nearly 20 percent of the Chicago price.
As CBS 2 Political Editor Mike Flannery reports, tax refugees wait in
long lines on Indianapolis Boulevard in Northwest Indiana. They jockey
for position at a pump, lured by prices that are 20 cents a gallon or
more cheaper than just a few blocks away back in Illinois.
"It was $4.20. I can come over here and get it for $3.93," said Tikvah
Wadley, one of the many fleeing Illinois taxes.
Illinois Sen. Dick Durbin complained to oil company bosses at a hearing
on Capitol Hill about Chicago having the highest gasoline prices in the
United States. Largely ignored was the role taxes are playing -- an
astounding 10 levels of taxation.
"Does it trouble any of you when you see what you're doing to us?"
Durbin asked..

Troops ordered to "shoot to kill" civilians then cover it up. Vast
amounts of ammo wasted on nonexistent targets. Pentagon running scared
of world exposure as troops are expected to testify before congress.
Tip of the iceberg?
