KB shortcuts: Why the change?

I just noticed that one of the reasons my KB shortcuts weren't working
is a lot of them have been changed by Opera......duh..:)
Why did Opera change them? And problems with changing them back?

I think this was made to be more compliant with other browsers and to
better integrate into different operating systems.

You can see a list of all changes here:
http://www.opera.com/support/search/view/884/ The article also describes
how to switch to the official 9.2 compatible shortcut setup (always
included in 9.5x installs), so changing back is easy.

Actually that is very good. So when someone is trying Opera they are not
wasting energy just learning how to do the most rudimentary things.
They can focus on what it does. Not the process involved in doing it.
Smart. If only Apple would have a Windows skin so Windows users could
try it and be comfortable right off the bat without the adjustment faze.
People shouldn't have to learn stuff when comparing stuff.

Thanks. Didn't see any part though that talks about changing them back.
Did I miss it on that page?

Hmm, that is exactly what I see on Mac. I just tried and could change to
Opera 9.2 Compatible there.

You can duplicate the Opera Standard setup at Preferences > Advanced >
Shortcuts and then edit your own version.

I'm using 9.51 on 4886 build on 10.4.11. Maybe you have a newer build?

I'm using 9.60 Beta 1 (build 5217) on 10.5.4 but I'm sure I saw this
option in all 9.5x builds. The "Opera 9.2 Compatible" keyboard set-up
resides inside the Opera app package so every upgrade shiuld bring it back
even if you accidentally deleted the file inside the app package.

There are also pre-configured keyboard set-ups available that you can
download/install from
http://my.opera.com/community/customize/setups/keyboard/ It might be a
good idea if someone added the 9.2 Compatible set-up there (the same way
you can install the 9.2 skin).
