  Latest Opera still stalling

Author: Gary
Date: Dec 25, 2008 23:01

Is it me or is anyone else using the latest OS X finding that Opera is stalling and freezing? Using
latest Opera 9.6.3 which I got today Dec 26. Javascript and videos just seem to overwhelm Opera.
Why can't they make things work like Firefox does? Every version seems to get worse and worse. Its
getting to the point now that I just don't other using Opera for anything with any media content.
You tend to use Opera for text and photos and Firefox for videos. Which is unfortunate because as a
browser Opera is far better designed.

Problem with RSS feeds in opera

Author: manpreet1
Date: Sep 16, 2008 01:01

I'm running Opera 9.51, on OSX 10.5, and I've developed a recent
problem with the RSS feeds.

There seems to be a long list of feeds, but they're all appearing as
blank - with no text, and no subject.

A screenshot is here:

Can anyone help?

Thanks,
Manpreet.

Mouse gesture inside panels trigger a folders bug

Author: GianAo
Date: Sep 15, 2008 14:49

I've switched to Mac at the beginning of 2008 and i since then i found
this bug, but never understood how to reproduce it .. until now.

It happens in all panels with folders which can be moved (so it happens in
Contact, Bookmarks and Notes, but not in Mail): select a folder with the
mouse, mouse gesture "right click + left", now try to select a different
folder: both of them are highlighted and the first is moved into the
second one. Click on a different folder and it happens again.
To "exit" you have to click on an empty area in the panel and it starts
working again.

I've looked for this bug newsgroups, but haven't found anything similar:
is it only in my system?

Cheers.

Is there a key or key combo which would allow me to click a link in the
bookmark panel and drag it out as in delete it?
Seems an intuitive approach. Currently I hit the command key until the
desired link is pink and then hit the delete key. Unfortunatly it does not
always go easily. So sometimes I open the link which is not as I wanted.

Also, your solutions to Danes questions are excellent. Thank you. However,
it would be nice if the drop down folder window he referenced could be
dragged to a longer size.

  Navigating Newsgroups in Opera

Author: royce-baron

I setup news.opera.com and subscribed to opera.mac.

In the left window (sidebar?) I have an arrowed (collapse/open) line which
says Newsgroups at news.opera.com (temporary)
Below which I have opera.mac

I expect that when I click on Newsgroups to see a full list of newsgroups
available at newsgroups.Opera.com. instead I only see what displays in
Opera.mac.

How do I step up a level?
Also, How do I fetch new messages to Opera.mac

Also: what does (temporary) mean or tell me?

thanks

Keeping Link Source Page Front Most

Author: royce-baron
Date: Sep 12, 2008 08:34

When I want to open a linked page in a new tab, I hold the command key and
click the link and I get that result. However, this action also makes the
newly opened page front most. So if I am opening ten links on a source
page, I have to keep bringing the source page front most. Is there a way
to click these links and have the source page remain frontmost? This is
the behavior I currently have with Firefox and Safari. I can watch a row
of tabs open but otherwise the screen view remains unchanged. Additonally
or alternatively, is there an easy way to open all ten with one action?

  KB shortcuts: Why the change?

Author: Dane

I just noticed that one of the reasons my KB shortcuts weren't working
is a lot of them have been changed by Opera......duh..:)
Why did Opera change them? And problems with changing them back?

  Bookmarks display

Author: Dane
Date: Sep 6, 2008 21:50

When you use Cmd_D to bookmark the existing webpage and click in "Create
in", it drops down. But not down very much. Is there any way of getting
it to drop down the full height of the window? Also is there any way of
getting it not to display in "flat" view? I have over a thousand
bookmarks and wading through them all is a nightmare. Sometimes its
easier to open "Manage Bookmarks" and create a new one there, then copy
the title and URL into it. There must be a better way! Bookmarks are
indispensable to a web hound. Efficiently working with them is
important!

  Full Screen kb shortcuts

Author: Dane

Does anybody have this working on Opera 9.5 on OS X Tiger? Its supposed
to be Alt or Opt and the F11 key to enable and disable Full Screen. Mine
worked for a year or so then for the last few months I can't get it to
work. Am I missing something? Also I can't get F4 (Panels) to work
either. The odd thing is once in a while it all will work. And I can't
see any reason why. Other shortcuts seem to be fine.
