We're with Orcon & have noticed a strange thing with trademe.
For a while we had dialup, in between having broadband.
In Firefox (2 or 3) on broadband there are problems with pictures loading -
after a while it just hangs. In Internet Explorer it is fine.
On dialup it is fine with either Firefox or Internet Explorer
Has anyone else had this behaviour?

Anyone know of a fix for these error messages in Windows XP/iTunes?
They started appearing after I tried to update iTunes to the latest version,
and in that version my iPod is not 'seen' by iTunes when it's plugged in.
I have been through all the fixes suggested at Apple, com, tried to find
fixes through Google, and even tried Microsoft fixes for unrecognised USB
devices even though it's not Microsoft software.
My iPod does show up in Widows Explorer as a usb drive, and I have full
access to it in WinAmp as a portable MP3 player, but Win Amp does weird
things to the directory structure and mp3 files on the iPods hard drive.
I have given iTunes 'trusted application' status in Comodo Firewall which
gives it full access to the internet.
I never had these messages with the previous version of iTunes, and I've
reverted back to that version for the time being, and my iPod is being seen
again in iTunes...

A complete scan came on late at night. I closed it to do in the morning. It
now seems to be stuck.
Trend micro internet security Overview page - last scan shows as July13,
2008 but not whether the scan is incomplete.
The "scan now" part is greyed and doesn't work.
"Update now" gets the message "Please wait until the scan has finished
before trying to update your protection"
The update log shows "error prevented update etc."
I don't think the scan is still scanning a day later. There is no red light
on the tower showing anything working.
Trying to shut down gets the message to wait until the scan is finished.
I've found "Read Me txt - Notepad " from the Start Menu - Trend Micro
It says "7.4 Scans for security threats stopped while in progress sometimes
cannot successfully complete"
So I know what is wrong, but I can't find anything in Help about how to
complete the scan or how to start a new scan.
Any ideas please?
Windows XP, Outlook Express, Trend micro 2007 updated to 2008.
Thank you

If you're still around John I've just been going through my back shed
lookingfor my motley collection of old CPUs to upgrade a machine and found a
still-sealed Canon Pixma MP160 that states on the box that it supports 98SE.

They would have to change the bill of rights to bring this law in.
from http://www.justice.govt.nz/pubs/other/pamphlets/2001/bill_rights_act.html
The Bill of Rights requires the Attorney General to report to
Parliament if any proposed law appears inconsistent with the Bill of
Rights Act. The government will have to justify the need for such a
law.
