Alicia Jrapko of the International Committee to Free the Five writes
that Sally O'Brien's "Cuba in Focus" program will feature an interview
with Olga Salanueva, wife of Rene Gonzalez, one of the Cuban Five
imprisoned in the US, on Monday, Sep 24, 2007. It's also live on the
web at htttp://www.wbai.org (I don't know if it will be kept available
as an audio file.)

Sally O'Brien's too-short program "Cuba in Focus" -- aired only ONCE A
MONTH on our NYC Pacifica station -- provides just about WBAI's
only decent coverage of Cuba. O'Brien also offers some of the best
timely information available on the case of Mumia Abu Jamal.

A pity because so much of WBAI's air time is devoted these days
to the standard vapid liberal blather (when they're not pitching or
fighting about their listener board elections). WBAI represents
perfectly the vanilla state of the so-called "left" in the US. People
who complain that this once-radical resource has been watered down to
resemble an amateur-hour NPR are told "It's better than nothing."
That's what those people say about the Democratic Party. Bah, humbug,
but here's to the few who still embody the real Pacifica spirit,
including Sally O'Brien.

On Monday, September 24th at 5pm Sally O'Brien will interview Olga
Salanueva, wife of Rene Gonzalez, one of the Cuban Five imprisoned in
the United States. Olga Salanueva, as well as Adriana Perez, wife of
Gerardo Hernandez, have requested visas on 8 occasions and every
single time the United States government has denied their requests. The
interview will be aired on the program "Cuba In Focus" on the New York
radio station WBAI at 99.5 FM. It can also be heard live on the web at
