Assigning controlled printer to a WS group

Author: r.bolhuis

question:
Environment: Netware 5.1 SP6
NDPS 2.1.2
Zenworks for Desktops 4

When i assign a NDPS printer to a group of users everyhting works fine,
however when i want to assign a ndps printer to a group of workstations
nothing happens.
Even when i check the option to view the results, nothing happens.
It is no rights issue, because i have tried it as administrator
( i rightclick on the WS container --> details --> NDPS printer
management. I made the WS group memeber of the user group of the NDPS
printer) I also tried doing this by the menu option: NDPS remote printer
management.
All my printers are controlled printers

Do i overlook something ?

Giving user admin access to only 1 workstation?

Author: Brian Mantler

I would like to give a user admin access to one specific workstation, but
regular access to all other workstations.

For example I want user John to have admin access to CPU1, but regular
access to all other CPU's.

I have a user policy package that has the appropriate group policy and DLU
policy associated to John. The DLU has Enable Login Restrictions and
inlcludes just CPU1.

When John logs in to CPU1 he becomes a member of the local administrators
and the appropriate group policy is placed in effect.

If a regular user logs into CPU1 they receive our standard group policy and
become members of the local users group.

However, if John logs into a different computer, say CPU2 he does not get
any DLU created. In this situation, I would like John treated like our
regular uses and a local user created that has only regular user rights

Any ideas?

Thanks

  Policies apply after 2nd login

Hi,

I have Zenwork 4.01 ir7 installed on a Netware 6 SP5 server.

I have DLU and restricted policies that apply after the user login.

If I boot my workstation, login with a username, nothing change but ZEN
applications work. No policies are applied and DLU don't create the user
locally. A "TEMP" directory profile is created under Documents and
settings.

If I logout and relogin without rebooting the workstation, everything apply.
DLU works fine and policies are applying.

Does someone had this problem before ?

Anyone can help me ?

I found this in another forum:

p,
> How did you get DLU to work on w2k3????

You need to use a utility to get it to
work.http://support.novell.com/cgi-bin/s...gi?/2957331.htm

You must also use the nt/2000/xp user policy.

This doesn't work for me. I believe you need to use the 6.5 agent.
