You may want to keep your eye out for ZFD8 Betas rolling around soon.
It requires no tie-ins to other products - even E-Dir. It should be a
fantastic product.

Even with ZFD7, it is quite easy to install in Windows Only shops.
Folks who know and have used ZEN will quickly realize that most competing
products are not really competivie due to lack of breadth.
I had one 10,000+ user client make the MS switch with the on-boarding of a
new CIO, but they kept ZEN and only ZEN because despite an exhaustive search
they could not find competing software to do what ZEN could do. In the end,
they were very very pleased with how well it rolled into their Windows
environment and the ZEN admins were very pleased with all of the new
features that ZFD7 brought them.

Anders...

We do not have 4,6 or 7.
Where can I extract just the snapshot form one of these?

I cannot say if it affects other OS because we only use XP sp2

Try using Windows 2000 for your Snapshots instead.
This will provide as reliable snapshots for XP as a base XP image will.

There is a workstation registry size issue that has been mostly fixed in
6.x/7.x

  us-nt.aot GW 6.5.7 install

Problem is that the "Outside In Technology" from Stellent, Inc. is not
getting installed.
(files are copied to C:\novell\groupwise\scc*.dll just fine)
But when you try to "Print" or use "Viewers" or look at "Properties" you get
errors.

trying a "verify" works fine, but problems persist.

Now an install (actually a re-install) using setup.exe also runs fine and
when you first try to Print/View/Properties the usual automagical install of
the "Outside In Technology" happens and all is well.

Can I do something to get the aot file to work??

I could just do another app object and have the setup.exe run, but... well
you know.
[perhaps time to swallow pride? - why does Novell give us aot files that
don't work? what the H___ am I doing wrong :-( ]

thanks for any help, tips or suggestions,
Brandon Fouts

Re: Launching NAL from login script AND startup?

Off the top of my head, I dont know the answers to your question, but
when I went through this process I just moved and renamed all the NAL
related files from the PUBLIC dirs so the ZEN7 Agent could not become
back dated.

The existing 3.2 agents kept running from the local PC like always and
after the PC was upgraded to ZFD7 there were no files in PUBLIC from
which the PC could accidentally get old files.
