  multicasting extremely slow

If anyone can figure this one out, they'll be my hero. I've been
fighting with this ever since we've adopted ZW. Multicast with Ghost on
the same hardware worked flawlessly. Switch to ZW and I end up with the
same problem you're facing -- works great for a single client, but add
multiple clients and it just drags. We've resorted to unicast for now,
because it is faster imaging a couple dozen clients unicast at one time
than it is to multicast.

I downloaded and purchased ($39) Partition Table Doctor and it restored the partition table on the second drive just fine. I now have my data back and much more knowledge than before. Thanks everyone for your help in pointing me in the right direction!!

  Blinky Cursor

Hi All

I've just got some new spangly workstations based around the Intel
D975XBX motherboard.

I can manually create and restore images using the manual option on the
boot CD without any problems.

However; I've run into two problems.

Firstly, the zen partition isn't working - It installs fine, ejects the
CD, reboots and then just blinks at me - I've tried the Zen 7.0.1 CD,
and the 7.0.1 Hotpatch2 CD - Both do the exact same thing.

I've already disabled the secondary SATA controller, and have tried the
SATA drive in IDE, RAID and AHCI modes - Nothing I do seems to make any
difference. It just doesn't look like whatever partition is being
created is bootable.

Secondly; I'm getting the good old "No work to do" message when I use
the Automatic option on the Boot CD - I'm 99%% confident that my
policies are correct - Other types of workstations are imaging fine.
I've enabled debugging on the server, and the log entry for this
workstation is as follows;

Wed Jan 03 11:38:58 2007 -- [LC] open connection,
10.217.36.245
Wed Jan 03 11:38:58 2007 -- [HC] received PROXY_CMD_VERSION
Wed Jan 03 11:38:58 2007 -- [HC] versions: 8, 7, -1

  Imaging a VmWare box?

Author: Rob

Hi everybody.

I'm pretty new to ZENWorks so please bear with me if the following might
be obvious to you (it is not to me :-)

From what a gathered on the group, it seems pretty possibile to take and
place an image of a virtual machine running either on VmWare or
Microsoft's Virtual PC.

Is it possibile to take an image on a VmWare machine when the ZENWorks
server is installed on another VMWare machine running on the same
physical box?

I mean, on my (real) Windows XP workstation I installed the following VMs:

Windows 2003 Server (ZENWorks server+AD+eDir)
Windows XP+SP1 (ZENWorks client)
Windows 98 (ZENWorks client)

Since I'm still learning, the above scenario allowed me to get acquainted
with the technology and everything works as expected.

Now I've just booted my Win98 VM and instructed the BIOS to use PXE for
boot; I see the

CLIENT MAC ADDR: ...... GUID ....

depicted on the screen but after a while the following appears:
