Kernel Panic on Intel 865GLC board with HP2

Author: Shane Schlosser
Date: Jan 15, 2007 15:57

Hi

We are having problems with our Intel 865 GLC systems with HP2, we
needed to install HP2 for our 965 systems but it seems to have broken
our old 865's... This is the error we get:

EXT2-fs: unable to read superblock
MINIX-fs: unable to read superblock
isofs_fill_super: bread failed, dev=md3, iso_blknum=16, block=32
kernel panic - not syncing: VFS: Unable to mount root fs on
unknown-block(9,3)

Anyone have any idea's or should I open an incident?

Thanks

ZDM7.0SP1 bootcd.iso not booting on any PC. MD5 sum anybody?

Hello,

just upgraded a ZDM6.5 to 7.0.SP1

comparing sys:public\zenworks\imaging\bootcd.iso I can see, that the bootcd.iso is
a new file right now compared with the backup drawn before:

bfda805d2e2b026246817d4e19c28406 *bootcd.iso
24.258.560 Bytes in size.

bbie.exe tells there *is* boot code:

C:\>bbie \\zensrv\sys\public\zenworks\imaging\bootcd.iso
BBIE - Bart's Boot Image Extractor v1.0, (c) 2001, Bart Lagerweij
http://www.nu2.nu
Reading boot record from sector 17 (0x11)
Reading boot catalog from sector 299 (0x12B)
1) mode "no emulation". Sector is 10929 (0x2AB1)
Writing 1 block(s) to "image1.bin"

MD5: 3a039420770611d5c25c98160142045d *image1.bin

After I burned the 3rd CDROM with the 3rd, different WinXP workstation, all times
with nero 6.0, disk at once, finalize, all the resulting CDROMs are *NOT*
booting on several different PCs. So I suspect, that the ISO image might be damaged?

  Hal Issues

Good Morning,

With the introduction of the new multi-core systems, I have taken the time
to look at our universal image to see if there is a way to streamline it a
bit better and make it more modular. The process is now utilizing staged
installs in Winbom.ini then a sysprep re-wrap for final items. I have a
base image 3 addon images (apps, drivers and sysprep) and everything seems
to be working just fine as long as I use the ACPI generic HAL.

My test build machine is a R40 but I have access to other machines (R60,
T60p and A50 desktops). On the R40, the only HAL that will load during
install of XP is the ACPI hal. I tried forcing down the...
