Re: ZFD6.5 Agent and Windows Kernel Level Drivers

Author: Craig Wilson
Date: Jan 26, 2007 11:45

The only real "driver" would seem to be the one used by the RC stuff. Try
not installing this portion of the agent that seems to help.

While not "Drivers" per se, there are also 4 additional services running on
the PC.
One is called "Workstation Manager" and the other three all start with the
name "ZENworks".
Try disabling all three to see if disabling them resolves the issue.

Issuing a 'NET START' will list all running services.
A 'NET STOP' will stop a service.

Is the Novell Client installed on these PCs or are you using "Middle-Tier"
communication?
What exactly do you mean by "Contacts" the ZFD Server? What type of things
are you doing at this point in time?

Is Zenworks for handhelds 6.5 required to be used with Tablet Pcs's

Author: Dennis.Chitolie

Hi, can anyone assist with information regarding Tablet pcs and the use
of Zenworks for handhelds 6.5.

We are currently using zenworks 6.5 for managing desktop pcs running
windows xp, one of our departments have bought a number of Tablet pcs
running WINDOWS XP TABLET PC EDITION.

Can we use the current zenworks policies setup for the desktop pcs with
the TABLET PC's or do we need to install the ZENWORKS FOR HANDHELDS
component to manage the TABLET PC's.

  Re: Zenworks Licensing Object

I have checked the permission level of both of the accounts and they have
supervisor rights throughout the tree. I have not trouble extending the
schema. Each time, I attempt to re-complete this step it tells me that the
schema has already been extended.

I have truly drawn a blank on this issue, everything works fine, the
applications install and startup, but the license is not there.

Any suggestions/ideas are appreciated.

I have tried with a few accounts. The original admin was renamed, but I
have tried it. Another account that was created with admin level access.
I believe you are on the right track though, because when I setup Zenworks
in a VM test environment, I installed with admin account and it worked. Is
there a certain level of permission I should look for in the tree to create
the ZenworksLicense.

  Zenworks Licensing Object

Author: mrigor

I am setting up Zenworks 6.5 on a Netware 6.5 SP5 box in a dual server NDS.
I login to the NDS with an administrator account, and go through the
initial licensing and schema extension section, no issues. I then move on
to the Desktop management services section and select the appropriate
server, services, etc. Re-enter the code which I use copy an paste to do
so. When it go to insert the license object or I assume that is what it is
doing I get.

Unable to update license key. Please re-run the product licensig wizard.

When I search the entire NDS for the ZenworksLicenses object, it is nowhere
to be found.

I have had the license verified as valid by Novell Support and tried
different adminstrative accounts with no luck. I am using the original
Zenworks 6.5 CD.

Any assistance is greatly appreciated.

ZFD3 objects after upgrade to 4.x then 6.5

Hello folks.

Over a number of years we've migrated along with Zen3.x to 4.x and
6.5sp2. Question is, should we delete the old objects such as the
ZFD3Inventory Database object etc? Is there any harm in doing so?
