Hi
I am trying to boot up with a zenworks boot cd that I burned from the
location on our
zen65sp1 server. The server is Nw65sp5. The server has zenworks imaging
installed correctly
because the linux environment was coming down to the workstation in the past
and we were able to
image without a problem. We just received a project to image 175 Ibm
8212-iyu machines with
on board nic cards. Pxe brings down the linux environment but then we get an
error message
about the nic not being supported. I downloaded the drivers for that intel
card and put them in the
driver\net folder which I created from the zimboot.exe file on a floppy
along with the settings.txt. I didnt
change anything in the settings file because we use dhcp except for the line
to associate the nic drivers.Well it is still not...

Missing Operating System when Zen Imaging

Author: bpilon

Hi,

I know this is Zenworks 6.5 forum, but I posted my information in Zenworks
4 Imaging forum and haven't received a response.

We rae using Zenworks 4.01ir7 at our school and Netware 6.5 SP5. We
applied the patch for Zenworks 4 to work with Zenworks 6.5.

I just got a image made for Dell Optiplex GX260 computer. We are
running Windows XP Professional SP2 and Novell Client 4.91 SP2 PatchC.

There is no Zen Partition so therefore Lilo is not in the image as the
boot loader. The hard drives are IDE and not SATA.

When I went to re-image the other 3 computers (they are all Dell Optiplex
GX 260, with same motherboard etc...) with this image, when I re-booted
the computer it says "missing operating system". This is happening on all
Dell Optiplex GX260 computers that I drop an image down from the image I
made.

I took the hard drives out and set the jumper from Cable Select to Master.

  Add-on Images for the T60

Author: NetwareGuy

He he, next step in the T60 saga.
Well, I've done a lot of Zenworks work before, but never really had a
lot of experience with add-on imaging.

I've got a base XPSP2 image, a Novell/Zen add on and a sysprep image,
and on top of this I have a machine specific driver image.
The driver image has a structure that supports copying of *.inf based
drivers to a structure which will then be implemented by the win install
(this is all the hard work of our good external consultants).

Some of the drivers for the T60, namely the fingerprint scanner doesn't
have an *.inf based install, but has an *.exe file which will install
the whole shabang, as well as a few other drivers and utilities.
So how do I do this the best way, how do I get the final utilities and
drivers installed, snapshot from zenworks converted to an add-on image?

Any input on this?

Hi Shaun

That did the trick, and even better, it now images the T60 here!

Thankyou very much, I can finally get to making this machine ready.

  HP nc6310 will not image

Author: pclanton

I read the threads relating to my problem. Brenden's thread came closest
to a solution for me. I am trying to image a HP NC6310. It begins the
imaging process, but stops when it tries to initalize the pcmcia devices.
I have tried disabling the sata settings - as suggested in Brenden's post,
but that doesn't help.

Thanks,

rigel
