Johwes,

it's a requirement, built-in to the product, sorry

Could you by any chance be more specific? It's hard to imagine that the
complete client with all components, like nwfs.sys for accessing NCP-shares
etc should be necessary for DLU.

Or is there a special "light" version of the Novell Client for ZCM
available?

Rolf,

ZCM was designed to require the Novell client for DLU, that's all I can
say

OK, thanks.
IMHO that was a bad decision, I.E beeing forced to use an unrelated product
for a Zen function.
For example, today Novell lists 9 post 4.91 SP4 patches, 5 of them fixes
security issues:

The decision means a lot of extra work for system administrators.

Well, nothing else will give you DLU.
I know Novell has a number of solutions where you can have a virtual Domain
where your eDir accounts will act just like Domain accounts and you can put
your PCs into a
Domain.

I just depends if you have NetWare, OES, etc... on how exactly you would do
this.
No need for a Windows Server or Domain Controllers, etc...

And none of that is to say that I don't understand what you want and why.
I'm just giving options in the face of the current realities of DLU.
