  Novell Client 1.1 dependency problems

Author: mark Brown

Hey Guys,
I just downloaded and install SLED 10. We run Netware 6 here, so I
downloaded the novell-client-1.1-SuSe10 client to access my netware
network.

When I try to install it I get dependency errors.

it say's it needs novell-xteir-base, novell-xtier-core, novell-gtgui and
novel-novfsd. When I try install novell-xtier-base, it then say's i need
libbfd-2.16.91.2.so. I can not find that file anywhere. novell-xtier-core
won't install with out the novell-xtier-base, nor will novell-novfsd.

when i try to install novell-gtgui it can't find libexpat.so.O

Were would I find an installation source that would have the libexpat and
libbfd packages?

or am I missing something here?

thanks in advance for your help.

Mark

Did not solve the issue.

CASA was unconfigured. I have configured it and am now waiting to see what
happens.

Thanks for the suggestion.

Try adding the following line to /etc/opt/gnome/gdm/PostSession/Default

nwlogout -t [tree_name]

Aaah-haaa! So THATS how it's done! Thankyou so much. I have been moaning
about this to myself for months! I use a WEP key for my wireless access
and had to put the keyring password in every time I started up my sled10
notebook. Simply enabling CASA did the trick for me.
Now, if I could just get the fingerprint reader working for
Linux...........
Cheers from Peter.

Are you getting an error which appears to indicate that the keyring
password is incorrect, or does it appear to be a problem with WPA?

Also, have you configured CASA at all? You should be able to configure it
via the control center.

It gives back an error message. I have not tried finding the hex code and
entering it,

The message almost seems tied to some kind of time out issue.

Not sure, I haven't used WPA (though I should). What happens if you go
ahead and try entering the keyring password when you're prompted?

I should have stated I am using WPA with a pass phrase not WEP. Does your
advice still appy?

  default keyring

While using my wireless card I keep getting prompted by:

Enter password for default keyring to unlock

The application 'nm-applet' (/usr/bin/nm-applet) wants to access to the
default keyring, but it is locked

I click Deny, get prompted for my pass phrase again, I enter it. Click ok.
Message pops up again, I click deny again which results in me being
authenticated to the network.

I took a look in Yast but did not see anything obvious. I am using
ndswrapper and a D-Link DWL-AG660 PCMI wireless card.

Thank you,
