Hello!
I was trying to use Kontact/Kmail but didn't could get any email after
accounts setup for several times; after trying to browse WWW with
Konqueror to check if the connection would be recognized, it couldn't
connect to WWW too.
Probably there is a KDE setting for Internet connection.
May someone help is this issue?
Thanks in advance,
António

I am running SLED 10 (which rocks!)against a NW 6.5.5 server with CIFS.
CIFS has been in place for some time, and works great with our Windows
PCs. I can attach to the NW server using Samba from SLED, and copy files
to and from the server. However, I cannot open a file directly from the
server. It works with SuSE 9.3 and Windows, but not with SLED 10. Any
thoughts? I have the Novell Cleint, so it isn't critical, just an
annoyance because "it should work!"
TIA

Joe,
I cannot find a source for this package. It isn't on the downloaded CD version :( And, as you say, the source you quoted is not on-line - indeed there appears to be a few that are off-line today.

Ahh,
In my Installation Summary I have CASA 1.659-1.4, CASA-devel 1.659-1.4 and CASA-gui again 1.659-1.4.
I do not have yast2-CASA, and it isn't in any of my installation sources. I am guessing, with a title like that, that yast2-CASA is the module I'm missing. Do you know of an installation source?
Thanks for your help Joe,
Rob

I have installed CASA modules and the Novell Client, but I cannot see the configuration tool in Yast/Security - as a result when I start the Novell Client and ask it to run the novell client at startup, I get an error message saying that micasa has not been enabled.
How do I resolve this?
Thanks,
RobAnt

I have recently downloaded an evaluation copy of SLED10. The workstation is
in a workgroup and I would like to access a windows server. I have tried
the following command :
smbmount // 192.168.1.27/tsddata /media/tsdsvr27 -o
username=uuuuu,password=ppppppp
I am prompted for a password and then get the following error:
ERROR: smbfs filesystem not supported by the kernel.
I have mangede to run updates after installation which downloaded around
150 patches.
When I execute the command uname -r the response is
2.6.16.21-0.8-default

(linux newbie alert)
I have NLD9 SP3 setup and working fine and now I'm trying to vnc to it
from a windows box. Remote Administration is on but I can't vnc to it.
I've tried tightvnc and realvnc with no luck. I have been able to get
vnchttp to work, but I would prefer vnc.
I've searched through past posts and found a similar request where the
guy says he fixed it by turning on Remote Desktop in the Control
Center. I cannot find any such setting in YaST. There's a
Network/Remote access but the only option there is for ssh.
Can anyone point me in the right direction?
thx
ck

Hi Jim,
I have this same intermittent issue with Novell Linux Desktop on our DELL
Latitude D610 Laptops with Intel 2200BG wireless cards.
Login script:
IF OS = "LINUX" THEN
MAP ROOT DATA:=/:
MAP ROOT COURSES:=/:COURSES
MAP ROOT CLASS:=/:CLASS
MAP ROOT STUDENT
COMMON:=/HOME:COMMONSTROUGH_COMMONSTUDENT_COMMON
MAP ROOT %%FULL_NAME:=%%HOME_DIRECTORY
MAP ROOT H:=%%HOME_DIRECTORY
END
error occurs with the MAP ROOT H:=%%HOME_DIRECTORY
we get " Unable to map H:=/
(code:8875 NWE_INVALID_DRIVE_BASE)

I don't think that profiles are supported on the NCL... Sorry.
