  sled-gnome-cbt_en-10.3.16 fails integrity check

Author: leo_dagum

I downloaded the sled 10 cd images for x86 and tried installing on an hp
dc7600 desktop machine. On the 3rd cd the installation throws an error
exception "sled-gnome-cbt_en-10.3.16 fails integrity check" and gives the
options to retry/abort/ignore. Retry fails. Abort or ignore both result
in aborting the installation and booting the system. Since no system
configuration has happened there is no root user so it's impossible to
log in.

I tried changing the wm to kde from default gnome, but the installer
still insists on checking (to presumably install) this package. I have
zero need for this package, is there no way to truly ignore it?

Well, I rebuilt it a couple of times more and finally got it working. Not sure what I did or didn't do that made it finally work.

Also had a hard time installing Novell Client, but finally got it installed. Will now play with the box.

  Helix Banshee

Hello.

When I try to use Helix Banshee now (it worked at first) I get these
messages:

On startup of Banshee: "Could not load a PlayerEngine" and a very long
message that I could not copy. I pressed OK and the program opened. But

When I pressed play: "Playback Error. Could not initialize supporting
library" OK.

Any ideas on what I should do?

TIA
Marie

PS: If there's another group I should post to let me know!

  GUI INTERFACE

Author: Taldree
Date: Sep 24, 2006 01:02

Hi,
Looking for direction on how to retrieve my GUI interface.
Thought I would give linux a try and installed the SLED V10 desktop. All
went well until I used YAST to update my NVIDIA drivers in order to change
video resolution (800x600)to my native LCD resolution (1280x1024). Upon
reboot the GUI wouldn't start but I do have the command line available.
Tried going back to the previous kernal.

Any suggestions from the experts?

I installed SLED 10 and everything looked good. Updated and installed new product (Novell Client). Re-booted PC and now keyboard won't respond. Had previously installed and same thing happened and I thought it was an bad install.

The PC is a Dell Optiplex 280. Tried with a USB and standard keyboard.

Replacing Fedora Core5 with SLED 10

Author: Zeeshan

I have Compaq nx9010 multi-booted with Winxp and Fedora Core 5. Now I want
to replace Fedora Core 5 with SLED 10. Please let me know:

1. There are 5 .iso image files (CD) for SLED10; do I need to download all?
2. How to replace FC5 installation with SLED10?
3. Where can I see hardware compatability list for SLED10?

Any other hint that might help me with this.
