BrainShare '08 starts today in Salt Lake City. It's a time we try to
gather as many of our volunteer SysOps as we can so they can learn, have
fun, meet each other, have fun, talk to the Novell engineers, have fun,
evangelize the forums, have fun, handle technical questions face to
face, and last but not least, have fun.

There probably won't be as much SysOp coverage in the forums this week,
but when the crew returns to their homes next week, they'll be even more
informed and ready to tackle the issues in the forums.

On Monday, February 11, these forums will be offline starting at 9:00am
MST while we move our hardware and implement Novell Login. This will
affect both the NNTP and HTTP interface. Other support options are
available at http://support.novell.com during this outage. Thanks for

You may have noticed that our forums have a new look on the web. Our
vBulletin interface is now the main web interface. Thanks to all those
that provided feedback while we were in the "beta" testing phase with this.

Forums can still be accessed via NNTP. See the FAQ link (under Quick
Links)on the web.

We still have one major task to complete which is the integration of
Novell login. It's almost there, we're just working through some NNTP and
domain name issues with our configuration.

Be aware that on Saturday January 5th, Our IS folk will be upgrading some
of Novell's L4 switches and doing firmware updates on our SAN arrays so
there may be times of outages for our web applications and services.
It's a good time to go skiing.

The way we are handling "newsflash" articles in this forum has changed.
We now have 4 separate news forums to keep you informed of what's new.

1 - This Newsflash forum (NNTP: novell.support.newsflash) will remain the
place to get news and information about what is happening with our forums.
Outages (never!), forum changes etc. will be posted in this forum

2 - What's New: Patches (NNTP: novell.support.newsflash.new-patches) will
contain a dump of new files and patches released by Novell

3 - What's New: TIDs (NNTP: novell.support.newsflash.new-tids) will
contain a dump of new technical information documents from Novell

4 - What's New: Novell in the News (NNTP:
novell.support.newsflash.novell-in-the-news) will contain press releases
from Novell as well as news articles from various publications about
Novell.
