Are you running Security Services 2.0.2? If so, there was a bug in NMAS
in that release which caused IPX logins to fail if the client was using
NMAS. Upgrading to Security Services 2.0.3 fixes the problem.

  4x to 6x Migration

Author: dtom
Date: Jan 14, 2007 09:12

We were running the Migration Wizzard to migrate a 4.2 server to 6.5. When
we get to the step to restore the trustee assignements we get an error:

SMSConnOpen Xfffdffd7 - NWSMTS error: Login denied.' occurred attempting to
open the connection to the SMDR from server 'DP' to server 'DP'. Make sure
the TSA's are loaded on both servers.

What do we need to do to finish the migration. Can this last step just be
rerun?

OK. But DS is synced on both servers? As for the license issues, just to recap.
You should have been able to install the 6.5 licenses in the tree beforehand.

Was the sys volume really full on that server?

Yes, that would be an option, but you would have to copy twice (from
workstation to server volume and then from server volume to DOS partition.
Also, if I remember correctly, TOOLBOX has the annoying property of not
preserving the file date while copying files to the DOS partition.
Personally, I always like to have the original date on NLMs and drivers so
that from a directory listing, I can see whether it is a possibly good
version.
