Current setup: Netware Small Business 5.1 SP8 server running Groupwise
6.0.3 & eDir 8.7.3

Windows server 2003 running eDir 8.7.3, and now holds the master copy of
the partition

Need to end up with Groupwise 6.5 on Windows 2003 server running eDir 8.8.1

Do I upgrade the Groupwise in place on the Novell server then move it, or
install 6.5 on the WIndows server and move the Groupwise data? What is
the best migration path? Are there any compatibility issues between eDir
8.8.1 and Groupwise 6.5?

No compatibility issues. However, you really should be upgrading to GW 7 at
this point. 6.5 is very old.
