  "Move inhibit"

Author: tiffany.debernardi

Hi,

We want to disable the ability to move a folder to an other folder. For
example, if a user has the rights RWECMF on 2 folders, he can move the
first into the second.

Have you a solution?

Many Thanks
Tiffany

  Recommeded Directory Naming Creation

Author: ldigenova

Hi Guys, does any one know of any white paper or technical document out
there that clearly defines the rules of directory and file creation in
netware 6.x?

I have some users that want to create long winded directory name with all
sorts of speacial characters.

If you are not aware of any, perhaps some pointers that i can use to
leverage my position.

Thanks in advance

Garry,
This is not right forum for NSM questions in the future please use the
storagemanager forum.

Currently, Sentinels are not supported on clustered resources, but you
can deploy a Sentinel against the physical node and configure it to
proxy for the virtual servers. We are working on the changes necessary
to support Sentinels as clustered resources, but this is not available
at this time. I have turned in the feature request to be added to a
future release.

thanks,

  appropriate configuration

Author: dspangler
Date: Oct 4, 2006 14:36

I am starting here a this new school district and have noticed that
fsfengin.nlm is loaded on every netware 6.5 server in the tree. We have
been having troubles with fsfengin.nlm holding the server.nlm thread open
that has been pegging the CPU time. I believe that fsfengin.nlm should
only be on one server, but if this is true then what is the appropriate
method for removing fsfengin.nlm from the server and tree and where can I
find information about the correct method of configuration?

Much thanks in advance!

Steve,

FSF does _not_ use the GUID on the eDirectory Platform, and is not
affected by changing it.

Can you tell me if this user is being renamed during this same process?
Also can you tell me if you have 2 event monitors per replica ring? This
is to make sure that FSF does not miss any events during the "roll over"
process. Do you know if the users where cataloged by FSF before the move
process?

Can you tell me more about the errors that you are seeing?

thanks,

NSM Development

Access denied message when accessing nsadmin

Author: dukesl
Date: Sep 21, 2006 15:26

I have been running the latest version of your software on a Netware
server for the past few months. All of a sudden I can not login to
nsadmin. I get an "Access denied because you do not have the appropriate
rights." message. I'm using the same user I've always used. This user
has admin rights to the entire tree (edir) so I'm not sure why I'm
getting this message. I would appreciate any light you can shine on this
problem.

Existing users and directories not linked - e147

Author: Stuart Beckett
Date: Aug 15, 2006 12:59

We are testing NSM 2.0 on a NW6.5sp5 server. I have recreated several users, their directories and several directories of users who no longer exist.

The users do not have a HomeDirectory value set in eDirectory. When I try to backfill against the policy, the console gives e147 errors that it can not create a directory. Is there a way to have NSM link the existing directory to a user?

Thanks

Stuart

Novell Client for Windows 4.91 sp2 (4.91.2.20051209)
Microsoft .NET Framework 1.1 with Hotfix KB886903

Also, when browsing objects, I cannot see what policies are associated to
them. AARGH!

  FSFEngin 669 error

Author: JeremyL

I get a 669 error when I try to start the FSF engin. I just upgraded from
1.2 to 2. I did have it loaded once but I couldn't login via the Admin
interface. It would just hang.
