If he is not actively using tactics to avoid or sabotage killfiles
(posting from various systems, forging, massive crossposting to create
cross-newsgroup flame wars) then it should be quite easy to killfile
him.

It does seem that the frequency and the size of his posts are
approaching net abuse. However, IMHO, they aren't quite there yet. If
his postmaster were to act in this instance, it would raise troubling
censorship issues.

Geez what a bunch of tossers you all are - you don't like someones postings so
you try and get him evicted from the net, why not just use a kill file - you
DONT have to read his posts/threads now do you ?

Why is it the net is getting populated by the biggest bunch of self absorbed
little Hitlers ? You don't like someones posts so you bloody complain or mail
bomb them - grow up you bunch of fucking sad gits !

  Self adminstration and default view

Author: Jouko Oksanen

Hi,

After setting up Self administration (according TID 10088010) for
certain values (phone numbers) Users cant see other users attributes
anymore. In TID 3006715 this scenario is explained but it does not help me.

Any ideas?

Thanks,
Jouko

Hi,

I just did this for our enviroment and it works like a charm. I changed
following attributes to "Text box (single value)":

-mobile
-otherphonenumber
-telephonenumber

All values changes from eGuide update the e-dir just fine.

I did everything according TID:10088010, it´s probably worth checking
through.

  Multi valued phone numbers

We are trying to edit our Eguide attribute for employee phone numbers.
We want our format to look like the following. (602) 555-5555 XXXXX the
X's representing the extention of the user. After different configs we
always get an error on page. Can anyone shed some light on this for us?

Thanks.

I love the newsgroups,

One thing I love about them, they don't keep log files of the news I read or files I download.
Images, video, mp3 music, the real news from around the world... it's all inside waiting for you.
They give you access to some of the best groups others may not carry.
Take a look, I know you'll love it as much as I do.
With some of the fastest connections around it's no wonder people love it and keep coming back.
Great prices and support await you as you travel into the beautiful world of premium nntp access.

800 GIGS of new multimedia content each day

Convenient thumbnail indexes
Blazing fast downloads

  Other users' photos

Author: ian.rarity

Hi all,

I've set up an eGuide server (eGuide 2.1.2 on NW65 SP5), and we've finally
got permission from the HR department to start photographing our staff.
The only thing is, I don't want the users to be in charge of uploading
their own photos to eGuide, as I'm not sure they'll get it right and the
support team could do without the additional workload. Is there any way
of modifying a user's photo without actually logging in to eGuide as them?

Thanks,
Ian.

How to limit the size of a text field?

Author: maurice.tadang

Hi,

I would like to limit the size of a text field to 4 characters. Is it
possible?

Do I have to modify something in Uihandlers.xsl?

Many thanx,
Maurice

  eGuide filter

Author: d.marriott

I wish to filter out all accounts with a fax number say of 9999 from my
display in eGuide.
In the admin tool I can go to the filter area and set one of the four
filters listed (starts with, equals, ends with, contains) I really want
to use "not equals" as an option but I cannot select it.
In the DIR_SCHEME.xml file I have the detail below for if equals to 9999
attrCriteria="eq">(facsimiletelephonenumber=9999)
Can I change ths line to be not equals to. maybe the text below?

attrCriteria="neq">((facsimiletelephonenumber=9999)
