Anyone have any issues installing/running bm38sp5 on nw6sp5? The readme
file included with the download only gives install directions for nw65sp4
or later. Is this just because nw6 is past eol? Thanks in advance.

I have only 63 TCP connections. Among them, only port 524 has about 20
connections on local IP and about 20 connections on remote IP. All 524 ports
are open on a private LAN card and not on public LAN card. There is no
errors on communications switches to which both LAN cards are connected.

Hello,
on my new Border Manager 3.8 SP5 server (NW6.5 SP6) I'm getting the
following error
message all the time on the loggerscreen:
Search failed: javax.naming.NamingException [Root exception is
com.novell.service.jncp.NDSException: ccode = -253 (0xffffff03)]
java.lang.NullPointerException
Any one knows where it comes from and how to solve it?
Thanks and regards
Mirko

You can already do that with normal access rules... no Linkwall needed,
unless I'm missing something.

After rebooting my bordermanager server, I now have an error when
trying to load the http proxy:
NBMLICENSE MANAGER: Unable to obtain a valid license. Code=8000100C
NBMLICENSE MANAGER: Error releasing the license. Code = C0001001
1-09-2007 12:42:10 pm: PROXYCFG-4.0-11
Novell Border Manager License is not installed
I looked in NWADMIN and there is a license file there for BorderManager
Proxy, with unlimited units available.
Any idea what might be wrong, or how I could go about fixing it? We
have BM as part of the small business server package.
Thanks!

Hello all,
I currently am running BM3.7 with all latest patches on a NW6 SP5 servers
(2 configured).
We ware starting to plan the migration to NW6.5 and I have read somewhere
that BM3.7 is not supported on NW6.5.
So, the question is, must I upgrade BM to version 3.8 before I upgrade to
NW6.5?
Any thoughts appreciated.
Steve D.

The new proxy.cfg doesn't seem to reduce the frequency of the
warning...fortunately, the warning is not really a major problem. I
guess we can still live with it... so far, the patch and the new
proxy.cfg don't seem to affect our BM. The warnings and the hard-reset
are a bit annoying but tolerable.
Anyway, thank you very much for your help, Craig.

I configured one of our NW65 Server as an FTP server and point to it via NAT
from my BMger Server.
The FTP security settings are not set to anonymous login, so I have to
create a user with a password for the login and rights to the desired
folder.
But after IE7 was released I have a strange issue when I try to connect to
the FTP server from the outside.
With IE6 this user only saw the desired folder. With IE7 this user can see
the SYS, the _ADMIN and all other volumes of the FTP-Server.
If he clicks on these folders they are empty except for the _ADMIN folder
with holds a Manage NSS Folder with a files.cmd file.
Why / What could that be? In the FTP settings I configured a base directory
on another volume (DATA:/FTP/Customer).
Any ideas?
Regards
Mirko
