I've been thinking of posting such a message in the Google Groups Help
Forum, but before I claim to be speaking for all of you, maybe I
should see if anybody ACTUALLY agrees with me.

'Cuz Google wants to be friendly and easy to use, while usenet is for
surly nerds* . Just look at the GG Help Forum, and you'll see tons of
whining posts from people who obviously have no idea which end of
Google is which.

What I'd espouse would be a reversion to the old DejaNews way of doing
things, where you could search old usenet stuff on the web, but
posting would have to be via nntp, THE WAY GOD INTENDED.

Not that I imagine Google would DO anything, mind you ...
