I just got one of these today. I took it seriously for about 2 seconds.
It was clear that the sender left "Xxxxx" in the spot for my name,
and later in the letter claimed that he knew my name! Terrible spelling
and grammar! Even the stupidest criminal in this country could better.

How do I find all domain names associated with a spammer's site?

Author: Bill Levinson
Date: Feb 17, 2008 13:09

http://www.webhosting.info/ is supposed to do it, but it comes back with
no information for the IP address of a spammer's domain.

What I want to do is post the name of every domain the spammer owns
along with information to the effect that the sites are a scam and
fraud, so that anyone who Googles any of the domain names will find this
information. The spammer comes up with new domains every day, so I want
to wreck the reputation of every domain he owns instead of having to do
it one at a time. As Caligula said, "Would that all spammers had but one
neck," or something to that effect.

"In the evolving world of Internet fraud, some bold thieves have even
used the e-mails on FBI letterhead, or claim to be from the Department
of Justice, Internal Revenue Service, Social Security Administration or
Better Business Bureau."

That's a really good way to get the attention of law
enforcement--impersonate the FBI or Justice Department.

Report to http://www.fbi.gov and local authorities. It is a criminal
offense to issue a death threat, especially with a demand for money
(extortion).
