A few months ago, I posted a very-unhappy comment about a recent
action by Compact Disc Connection (CDConnection.com). I'd been
dealing with them quite happily for well over a decade, due in part to
their firm "We will never send you unsolicited email ads" policy.

They broke this policy earlier this year when they implemented a new
email advertising system (used to advertise sales and "no shipping
charge this week" promotions). I understand that they spammed some
of the email addresses for customers who had not knowingly opted-in
for such ads, and they spammed *all* of the email addresses they
received from a related company (German Music Express) that was
closing up shop.

I send them a very firm complaint via their contact form, and got back
an apology and an assurance that neither of my email addresses would
receive further promotional emails. I wasn't sure whether this
reflected a policy change, or just list-washing. Due to their years
of excellent service I decided not to put them on my sudden-death
"never deal with these people again" list, but to give them another
chance to screw up, or not.
