How can I possibly find out why all my blocks are listed?

Author: kevin

I'm finding it very difficult to understand how all my blocks got
listed when we have received Zero complaints in the last 3 months, all
those before (about one per month) were responded to within hours and
solved within 24.

One would think that my upstreams would have at least forwarded a
complaint. All that is being said is that I've been listed here.

Any suggestions other than blindly paying to be delisted? If there
really is a problem, I sincerely would like to know what it is.

Thanks in advance for any response.

Kevin

Well, I'd first suggest letting us know where you're listed... Without
knowing what list is listing you, suggestions will be shots in the dark.

Where? Please include the list, record and IP block in your subject.
Please distinguish between block that atre yours and blocks that are your
providers.

Many don't. It's safest to ensure that the SWIP or rwhois records contain
your contact addresses as well as your provider's.

Check whether there is any filtering of traffric to your abuse, postmaster
and security addresses. Ensure that all relevant records list working
contact addresses. Post yhe relevant description from the list here, along
with whois and rwhois data. Ensure that all addresses in the IP block have
FCrDNS.

Complaints are so 1990's.

Since complaints are so universally ignored, it's more trouble to send
them than the benefits gained can compensate for. Listing a network
gets more action than a complaint does, on average, and even that is so
very little.

I agree that lack of information makes it harder to correct a problem.
You have to be very proactive about it. You have to start with software
and configuration that is the least likely to let spam out...
