DeLay should know. OTOH, it's symptomatic of the rot in the 'pub party
that he is even listened to anymore...sort of like Stevenson--a
disgraced, (should be) has been caught with both hands in the cookie jar
up the shoulders...yet still wielding influence (ahead of the conviction
at least).

I still don't see experience in battle equaling much in experience in
the White House. Some may see that differently, and it's hard to say,
since so few of our presidents have had NO military experience. Some of
our best were generals; but some weren't. That said, as I opined the
other day I think it ought to be mandatory for the pres to be at least
moderately well-traveled.

McCain might fit that description; but Palin mentioned the other day
that she had been to 'Ireland, Dubai and Germany'...then it turned out
that her 'trip' to Ireland consisted of a refueling stop in that country
on the way to one of the others. IOW, evidence is that she's been out
of the country once or maybe twice.

I'm sure she can draw some really cogent insights on Irish Zeitgeist
from her experience in the duty-free shop at the Dublin Airport....

I only hope you are right, Cyrus. It's just as possible that the people
who were already 'wised up' are just getting wiser; and the great
unwashed masses still smell.
