| First of all, I've never watched the first episode of '24', and while I
| liked Star Trek in my younger years, for me it's value was to tell a story
| with a moral. I've never appealed in my thoughts to how I would deal with
| real life based upon what a fictional character from any Trek series
| thought.
|
| Your beloved 9/11 commission said the reason why we failed to see 9/11
| coming is because of our lack of imagination! It is a fact that only 35
lbs
| of Uranium 235 was dropped on Hiroshima, Japan with the Little Boy Bomb
and
| caused much devastation. This was the first time, the "gun method" was
used
| to detonate a Nuclear bomb, it hadn't been tested prior. -
|
http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/f/fa/Gun-Type_Fission_Weapon.gif
| 35 lbs of Uranium seems like a lot, but it is a very dense material like
| lead, only much more unstable. 35 lbs of Uranium 235 compressed into a
| Sphere is only slightly larger than a softball. The danger is that such a
| gun method can be put into a suitcase or backpack type bomb (the kind
| developed by the former Soviet Union), and then a single homicide bomber
can
| walk into a major city and detonate it. Probably simpler is unprocessed
| Uranium that is used like a dirty bomb. You use a conventional bomb to
| explode it, and while it doesn't have the destructive power of a true
| fission bomb, but the radioactive fallout can kill as many people as were
| killed in Hiroshima via radiation sickness.
|
| Who knows what November will bring! Maybe a Democrat will take the White
| House, maybe the Democrats may remain in power in the US Congress.
Perhaps
| a Democrat President and Congress will do away with the Patriot act, and
| pull all our troops home from overseas. It still won't change the basic
| teachings of the radical Islamists -
| http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f0ObL2Clh8g and it still doesn't change the
| fact that al-Qaeda would like to get their hands on Nuclear weapons if
they
| could. (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BWFWCg1BdRg - and this video clip
is
| from ABC News back in 1999 when Bubba was still President)
|
| Something tells me that if Grandpa Jack DeDert gets his dream of a
Democrat
| Government and faces a scenario like Grandma Crabby after the fact, I
can't
| believe Grandpa Jack DeDert wouldn't turn the spicket on the keg of water
| with the al-Qaeda terrorists strapped to the board, because he thought it
| was too torturous! I think Grandpa Jack would put Jack DeDert Jr. and
Jack
| DeDert III's lives first ahead of some ethical theory when it came to
| practical real life ethics.

|
| Those JOKERS in the Middle East you think of as simply as misunderstood,
| don't even operate with the same set of marbles that you have in your head
| Jack! If they did, I wouldn't ever waste the time of considering them a
| serious threat! One doesn't need to watch a Comic Book or TV character to
| know from History, they have been a threat since before the United States
| was a Super Power! (The Nazi & Radical Islam connection - lessons from

| PS>I am a member of the League of Stupendous Gentlemen! ;)

If a Obama or Hitlery is elected President the US will suffer a major
terrorist event within 2 years of them taking office. You cannot turn your
back on terrorism and both have pledged to.

War is an ugly thing, but not the ugliest of things. The decayed and
degraded state of moral and patriotic feeling which thinks that nothing
is worth war is much worse. The person who has nothing for which he is
willing to fight, nothing which is more important than his own personal
safety, is a miserable creature and has no chance of being free unless made
and kept so by the exertions of better men than himself.
