*Like* no draft, no concern?

May 4, 1970 - When news swept across campus at the University of Tennessee
in Knoxville that Ohio national guardsmen had killed four students on campus
at Kent State University, the UTK Army Reserve building was firebombed in
protest causing thousands of dollars in damages. UT student leaders
denounced the violence and called for a meeting on the plaza at the
University Center where a three-day strike was called.

It's a war where only 1/2 of 1%% are personally affected.

I was there that day in front of the student center. One of those
moments one remembers what they were doing for the rest of their
lives.

I skipped the violence there
-- in fact I was unaware of it until
later. Hitchhiked to DC for the big demonstration.
