The preceding is a link to a cartoon. You may follow it or not, it's
your choice. I only posted it because 1) I find it amusing and 2) it
is so true. I will not describe the comic in this paragraph, this
serves only to label an otherwise undescribed link. Void where
prohibited, my daddy can beat your daddy at dominos!

MK 5:35 While Jesus was still speaking, some men came from the house of
Jairus, the synagogue ruler. "Your daughter is dead," they said. "Why bother
the teacher any more?"
MK 5:36 Ignoring what they said, Jesus told the synagogue ruler, "Don't be
afraid; just believe."

20 Remember the words I spoke to you: `No servant is greater than his
master.' If they persecuted me, they will persecute you also. If they obeyed
my teaching, they will obey yours also. 21 They will treat you this way
because of my name, for they do not know the One who sent me. 22 If I had
not come and spoken to them, they would not be guilty of sin. Now, however,
they have no excuse for their sin. 23 He who hates me hates my Father as
well. 24 If I had not done among them what no one else did, they would not
be guilty of sin. But now they have seen these miracles, and yet they have
hated both me and my Father. 25 But this is to fulfill what is written in
their Law: `They hated me without reason.' - John 15 ...

The Forensic Pathology of the Images on the Man on the Shroud of Turin -
http://www.shroudofturin4journalists.com/pathology.htm
We see in the images of a man on the Shroud of Turin a pictorial testament
to the passion story from the Gospels. We see indications of scourging and
beating. We see the unmistakable wounds of crucifixion. Pathologists who
have studied the image say that this is a man in rigor mortis: He is dead.

Eve, remember when you told Olin (I believe but I could be wrong) that
you couldn't possibly join up and go over and kill you some of them rag
heads, you said yo momma would kill you if you did?
We remember it.
And this morning I remembered this:
I'm just a typical American boy from a typical American town.
I believe in God and Senator Dodd and in keeping old Castro down.
And when it came my time to serve, I knew better dead than red.
But when I got to my ol' draft board, buddy this is what I said:
:
"Sarge, I'm only eighteen, I got a ruptured spleen,
And I always carry a purse.
I got eyes like a bat, and my feet are flat, and my asthma's getting worse.
Oh, think of my career, my sweetheart dear, my poor old invalid aunt.
Besides, I ain't no fool, I'm going to school,
And I'm working in a defense plant.
