Too nauseated to comment.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Labor_day
Labor Day is a United States federal holiday observed on the first Monday in
September. The holiday originated in 1882 as the Central Labor Union (of New
York City) sought to create "a day off for the working man".
Congress made Labor Day a federal holiday in 1894. All fifty states have
made Labor Day a state holiday.

Workers at the Tyson Foods poultry processing plant in Shelbyville will no
longer have a paid day off on Labor Day but will instead be granted the
Muslim holiday Eid al-Fitr.

If people would stop consuming their products, they'd go out of
business.

Consider the worldwide food redirection and pollution reduction that
would occur if people would simply consume a vegetarian diet, not to
mention the potential for improved health thus lessening the burden on
the medical and insurance industries. I really find the various rants
of environmentalists, *my car gets umpteen miles per gallon* *I turn
cartwheels to work,* all rather hollow if they are not willing to do
the one thing, the simplest thing, the most cost effective thing to
bring about the greatest environmental change on the planet, this side
of a massive reduction in population growth, but that's another story.

An economic aside, since the beginning of '07 the cost of a 50 pound
bag of hog feed at the co-op has gone up from 4.25/4.50 to 10.50. I
wonder how expensive pork would have to be to get people to stop
eating little squigglies.

The outrage is what they do when they are working, not when they take
holiday.

What the investigator saw was truly horrifying. Birds were frequently
mutilated by throat-cutting machines that didn't work properly; one
bird had her skin torn entirely off her chest. Workers were instructed
to rip the heads off birds who had missed the throat-cutting machines,
and our investigator was told not to stop the line for missed birds.
Plant employees were seen throwing dying birds around just for fun.

PETA's investigator also witnessed numerous birds who were scalded
alive in the feather-removal tank while they were still conscious and
able to feel pain. Plant managers told him that it was acceptable for
40 animals per shift to be scalded alive, and no one was reprimanded
when far more than 40 birds suffered this fate during any given shift.
