Turned on the TV for some background noise while doing some work this
morning. I'm constantly amazed that there can be so many shows on
cable and usually *nothing* worth watching.
However, this morning I found a Three Stooges mini "moron-a-thon" on
Spike TV. I'm fairly certain I haven't seen the stooges in years, if
not decades, so this is a treat for me.
Trivia question: What is the well-known children's song that plays at
the opening of a Three Stooges episode?

3 Blind Mice.
The end credits use "Listen to the Mockingbird".

And, if memory serves, there were actually six stooges over the years...
Larry Fine, and Curly, Shemp and Moe Howard, a second "Curly," and another
one very early on when they were under a draconian personal services
contract to their original act.

That's true more often than not, but my bride is a huge Stooges fan. I work
with a lady who, in addition to being a registered nurse, is a
professionally trained clown. Last year for Christmas she gave me a metal
Stooges wall hanging. I remarked to her that not many women cared for the
Stooges at all and was surprised that she did.
She didn't, but she figured I would be a fan. Go figure.
We talked about 'em a while, and I convinced her they were worth a second
look because of their slapstick abilities and timing.
Both were impecable... and you're right, the Stooges did transcend a lot of
the negatives of others who purveyed their brand of humor.
