Oh? As in the immunizations and other veterinary care, discovered and
provided by humans, that improves and extends the lives of countless
animals?
When I was a kid, the life expectancy of a pet cat was seven years and
considerably less if it was a non-neutered male. Without spaying, a
female cat looked forward to a lifetime of pregnancy and giving birth
two to three times a year, every one of which was dangerous and could
lead to her death. Animals were plagued by fleas, ticks, mites, and
numerous other parasites.
Now, with immunizations, spaying, neutering, other veterinary care,
and sanitary and healthful food (free of parasites and all provided by
humans), cats often routinely live to 15 and beyond. Males are not
destined for a life of often brutal fighting, possibly leading to
disfigurement and death. Females are not destined for a life of
bearing litter after litter until their bodies give out. Then, when
the time comes that they are obviously close to death, they can be put
down mercifully rather than having to starve and wither away until
they die.
We can't ask the animals, but I'm betting most would take the
lifestyle provided by man over the brutality of raw nature any day.
